Day 2 at CIFFI started at a higher note. ‘Women issues & treatment of female characters by contemporary filmmakers” was in discussion in panel comprising of 3 members- Dr. Gauri D. Chakraborty, Ms. Anandana Kapur and Ms. Aradhna Kohli Kapur.

The guests were felicitated. All the three experts addressed the gathering in Studio 62. In the panel discussion, Ms. Anandana Kapur raised the point of why every film has to include one item song.
Ms. Aradhna Kohli Kapur emphasized that women have to be actively involved in creating content to bring about a change in the way women are depicted in cinema.
Taking the discussion further, Ms. Gauri D. Chakraborty highlighted that women issues are not just limited to women only. They are issues of social structure. Examples of Indian films like Pink, Kahaani, Zindagi na milegi dobara, etc. were quoted.
At the end of the discussion, a question-answer round took place which gave more insights about the topic.
